Client’s Need:

Create and manage a street team in support of Max Lucado’s book, Fearless. Through this team, reach out to churches and leaders in the community. In addition, help create a presence on Facebook for Max Lucado.

Buzzplant Solution:

Buzzplant created a street team by inviting members of the Team Buzzplant street team database (over 10,000 volunteers) to join the team. In addition, fans of Max Lucado were invited to join. Buzzplant managed the street team efforts for three months in the fall of 2009. This campaign was extremely successful.

Highlights for the campaign include:

  • Fearless reached #10 on the New York Times Best Sellers list.
  • 475 people joined the team with an above average of 30% actively reporting back.
  • Team members submitted over 200 pictures of their Fearless activities.
  • Members reported back that over 200 churches received materials about Fearless and members personally spoke with over 150 church leaders.
  • Team members reported over 1000 social media mentions or adds for Fearless & Max Lucado (on sites like Facebook & Twitter).
  • Team members spoke with someone face to face about Fearless over 1275 times and sent over 1400 personal emails to their contacts about Fearless.

On Facebook, Buzzplant helped create the personal Facebook page for Max Lucado and helped talk about Fearless on this page and by linking the page to Max’s Twitter account. The Facebook page grew so quickly that this page has already reached the maximum friend cap of 5000 friends and the client is now using the Max Lucado “fan” page to allow more users to connect with him on Facebook.
